Lolita Cort\u00e9s\n\nAlguien me dijo en una ocasi\u00f3n que no recomendar\u00eda encargar un proyecto a un arquitecto que no supiera cocinar. Desde entonces, no puedo evitar hacer extensible aquel consejo cuando tengo que elegir a un dise\u00f1ador. Los que se dedican a la comunicaci\u00f3n visual son muchos y saben venderse muy bien, pero hay que mirar m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su fachada y llegar hasta la cocina para saber si es el adecuado para nosotros. Es por eso que a Lolita le gusta recibir directamente en la suya. \n\nQuienes preferimos trabajar con personas antes que con empresas agradecemos ese recibimiento. En este pa\u00eds todav\u00eda quedan artesanos de la creatividad que dejan un trazo de su personalidad en lo que hacen. Por eso los buscamos. Son profesionales a los que les gusta trabajar con sus clientes m\u00e1s que para sus clientes. El matiz de la preposici\u00f3n es lo que marca la diferencia y se deja ver en el resultado. La personalidad, en este caso, se ha cocinado a fuego lento a trav\u00e9s de diversas culturas y experiencias. \n\nLolita Cort\u00e9s naci\u00f3 y pas\u00f3 sus primeros a\u00f1os en M\u00e9xico. Es nieta de refugiados de origen catal\u00e1n y apellido ilustre, con un pasado aristocr\u00e1tico que se percibe en el trazo refinado de sus trabajos. Su coraz\u00f3n se qued\u00f3 en aquella tierra de acogida, que ser\u00e1 para siempre su tierra madre, mientras se iba convirtiendo en una dise\u00f1adora cosmopolita, formada en la escuela Llotja de Barcelona y la Parsons School of Design de Nueva York. La mezcla perfecta entre la cultura milenaria del mediterr\u00e1neo y la cultura anglosajona del bussines. \n\nSu estreno profesional fue en el \u00e1mbito del arte contempor\u00e1neo. Estuvo durante dos a\u00f1os en Marisa del Re, la galer\u00eda de la calle 57 de Manhattan donde expon\u00edan artistas como Arman, George Tooker, Robert Indiana o Karel Appel, que formaba parte del movimiento CoBrA, para el que trabaj\u00f3 como asistente. Las siguientes paradas fueron M\u00f3naco, montando la III Bienal de Escultura Contempor\u00e1nea y Par\u00eds, para digitalizar la revista Galleries Magazine.\n\nToda esa experiencia junto a su pasi\u00f3n por el dise\u00f1o la llevaron a ser la directora creativa a nivel europeo de una gran empresa del retail de lujo, con sede en Londres. En Value Retail comenz\u00f3 como Development Manager para la creaci\u00f3n de nuevos Outlets Villages, nada menos que nueve, y acab\u00f3 ideando campa\u00f1as de moda y supervisando equipos de dise\u00f1adores gr\u00e1ficos en siete ciudades europeas. Una locura.\n\nUn amigo com\u00fan que trabaja en este mismo gremio suele decir que lo m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil es saber dejarlo a tiempo para encontrarse con uno mismo y desaprender. Hacer un esfuerzo consciente para abandonar los patrones conocidos y abrirse a otras maneras de hacer las cosas emprendiendo un viaje transformador. Lolita se fue hasta India, donde adem\u00e1s de recorrer el pa\u00eds, estuvo trabajando en una escuela para ni\u00f1os de los barrios marginales en Delhi.\n\nCon todo ese bagaje y una vida empapada de riqueza cultural, regres\u00f3 a Barcelona donde cofund\u00f3 Creative Hot House y despu\u00e9s su propia empresa de consultor\u00eda, Lolita & Co. De all\u00ed salieron los proyectos de branding y packaging que se pueden ver en su portafolio. Ahora elabora su narrativa como artista, dise\u00f1adora gr\u00e1fica e ilustradora bajo su propio nombre, en un espacio de trabajo, junto a la cocina, que lo dice todo sobre ella.<\/p>

Those of us who prefer to work with people rather than companies appreciate that welcome. In this country there are still creative artisans who leave a trace of their personality in what they do. That’s why we look for them. They are professionals who like to work with their clients more than for their clients. The nuance of the preposition is what makes the difference and is seen in the result. Personality, in this case, has been simmered through various cultures and experiences.<\/span><\/p>

Lolita Cort\u00e9s was born and spent her early years in Mexico. She is the granddaughter of refugees of Catalan origin and an illustrious surname, with an aristocratic past that can be seen in the refined lines of her work. Her heart remained in that welcoming land, which will forever be her motherland, while she became a cosmopolitan designer, trained at the Llotja school in Barcelona and the Parsons School of Design in New York. The perfect mix between the ancient culture of the Mediterranean and the Anglo-Saxon business culture.<\/p>

His professional debut was in the field of contemporary art. He spent two years at Marisa del Re, the gallery on 57th Street in Manhattan where artists such as Arman, George Tooker, Robert Indiana and Karel Appel exhibited, which was part of the CoBrA movement, for which he worked as an assistant. The next stops were Monaco, setting up the III Biennial of Contemporary Sculpture and Paris, to digitize the Galleries Magazine.<\/p>

All that experience together with her passion for design led her to be the European creative director of a large luxury retail company, based in London. At Value Retail, he began as Development Manager for the creation of new Outlet Villages, no less than nine, and ended up devising fashion campaigns and supervising teams of graphic designers in seven European cities. Crazy.<\/p>

A mutual friend who works in this same profession often says that the most difficult thing is knowing how to leave it in time to find yourself and unlearn. Make a conscious effort to abandon known patterns and open yourself to other ways of doing things by embarking on a transformative journey. Lolita went to India, where in addition to touring the country, she was working at a school for children from the slums in Delhi.<\/p>

With all that baggage and a life soaked in cultural wealth, she returned to Barcelona where she co-founded Creative Hot House and later her own consulting company, Lolita & Co. From there came the branding and packaging projects that can be seen in her portfolio.<\/p>

Now she creates her narrative as an artist, graphic designer, packaging designer \u00a0and illustrator under her own name, Lolita Cort\u00e9s, in a workspace, next to the kitchen, that says everything about her.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
